During the week of June 14 to 20, the Belle Plaine Police Department responded to the following selected calls:

Monday June 14

At 1:53 am on the highway. 169 and Meridian St. S., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 85 mph in a 65 zone. The 22-year-old driver, from Mankato, was cited for speeding.

At 2:27 am on the highway. 169 and Meridian St. S., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 80 mph in a 65 zone. The 53-year-old driver, from Eagle Lake, was cited for speeding.

At 7:56 am on the highway. 169 and Triangle Ln., An officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 75 mph in a 65 zone. The 33-year-old driver, from Belle Plaine, was cited for speeding and using a wireless communication device .

At 10:08 am on the highway. 169 and Main, an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. After an investigation, the 19-year-old driver, from Arlington, was arrested for 5th degree cocaine possession, marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of alcohol and speeding. The vehicle and the money were confiscated.

At 12:58 pm on the 200 block of Chestnut St. S., a report of a lost dog was made. The dog is a male chocolate lab, wearing an orange collar. If you are spotted, it is advisable to call Critter Getters.

At 1:37 p.m. on Block 900 of Sunrise Ln., An officer attended a civil case.

At 2:48 p.m. on Highway 169 and Enterprise Dr., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 74 mph in a 65 zone. The 31-year-old driver, from Minneapolis, was cited for speeding.

At 6:24 p.m. on Highway 169 and Broadway Street, an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic complaint. The area was searched, with negative results.

At 6:35 p.m. on the highway. 169 and the old road. 169 Blvd., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 78 mph in a 65 zone. The 20-year-old driver, from St Paul, has been cited for speeding.

At 7:42 p.m. on the highway. 169 and the old road. 169 Blvd., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 75 mph in a 65 zone. The 21-year-old driver, of Maple Grove, was cited for speeding.

At 8:09 p.m., in the 800 block of Main Street West, medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Tuesday June 15

1:55 a.m. on the highway. 169 and Main St. S., an officer arrested and cited a 64-year-old driver from Minneapolis for an expired driver’s license.

At 6:34 am on Union Trl. and Quarry Trl., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a vehicle and trailer in the ditch. The officers carried out traffic control.

At 10:06 am on the 200 block of Commerce Dr. E., an officer answered questions regarding the process for obtaining a restraining harassment order or protection order.

At 12:58 p.m. on the highway. 169 and Enterprise Dr. E., an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 80 mph in a 65 zone. The 37-year-old driver, from Mankato, was cited for speeding, lack of proof of insurance and violation permit.

At 3:10 pm on the 400 block of Meridian St. S., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 5:46 pm on the 19000 block of County Rd. 40, an officer assisted Carver County with a motorcycle accident.

At 5:51 p.m. on the 500 block of Maple Street S., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 6:22 p.m., in Block 200 of Linden St. N., an officer participated in a civil matter.

At 6:54 p.m. on the 300 block of Shea St., an officer responded to a disturbance. The parties have been notified and the minor has received a trespass warning.

At 8:54 p.m., in the 800 block of Main Street West, medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

Wednesday June 16

1:04 am on the highway. 169 and Meridian St. S. an officer stopped a vehicle traveling at 76 mph in a 65 zone. The 22-year-old driver, from Richfield, was cited for speeding.

At 8:54 a.m. on Raven St. W. and Willow St. S., an officer assisted the Belle Plaine fire department in blocking traffic, due to an affected gas line.

At 1:11 p.m. on the 500 block of Elk S., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 2:06 p.m., in the 800 block of Prairie St. W., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 3:52 pm on the 1000 block of State St. W., an officer received a traffic complaint. Contact was made with the driver who was notified.

At 4:47 p.m. on Block 100 of Linden St. S., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 5:49 p.m. in the 900 block of Lacy Ct., An officer received a report of threats against another person. The incident was documented and the person instructed on how to obtain a restraining harassment order.

At 6:40 p.m., in Block 100 Meridian Street N., an officer participated in a civil case.

At 9:41 p.m. on Highway 169 and Sielaff Dr., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with an uninjured accident.

Thursday June 17th

At 1:31 am on the 900 block of Park Ln., An officer responded to a possible servant in progress. Upon arrival, the officer found that the engagement was only verbal and the parties were separated for the night.

At 9:29 a.m., in the 400 block of Main Street S., a silver key was returned to the police department without any information on the owner.

At 10:45 a.m., at the 400 block of Main Street East, there was a report of a lost dark gray male cat. If you are spotted you are advised to call MN Critter Getters.

At 11:12 a.m. in Block 100 of Elk Street S., a medical alarm went off. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 1:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Main Street East, an office worker helped a family register their bikes.

At 3:06 p.m. on the highway. 169 and Bluff Dr., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic complaint. The vehicle has been located and the driver has been notified.

At 3:34 pm, in Block 100 of Meridian St. N., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 7:04 p.m., in the 600 block of Main Street West, medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 9:05 pm on the 800 block of Forest St. E., officers were called for a loose dog. The dog was then returned to its owner.

At 10:54 a.m. on Cedar St. S. and Prairie St. E., officers responded to a noise complaint. The owner was notified and the music was turned off before the officers left.

Friday June 18

At 9:56 a.m. on the 700 block of Butler Dr., an officer arrested a 31-year-old man from Trimont for two terms, fleeing on foot and driving after being dismissed.

At 11:40 a.m. in the 200 block of Elk Street S., an officer received a report of harassment. The officer contacted the person who was notified.

At 11:53 a.m., an officer received several complaints, across town, from lawyers going door-to-door. Contacts were made with those who were advised that a municipal permit had to be obtained.

At 5.35 p.m. on the highway. 169 and Smith Dr., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic complaint. The area was checked but they could not locate.

At 6:39 p.m., in the 6200 block of 250th St. W., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a fire call. The New Prague Fire Department arrived at the scene and authorized the call.

At 6:58 p.m. on State St. E. and Linden St. N., an officer stopped and cited a 41-year-old driver, from Warren, MI, for engaging in cell phone use.

At 7:32 p.m., in the 300 block of Ash Street N., an officer answered questions regarding the legal fireworks. The officer informed them of the city ordinance.

At 11:33 p.m. on State St. E. and Meridian St. N., an officer arrested and cited three minors for curfew violations.

saturday 19 june

At 12:11 am on Block 100 of Meridian St. N., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 2:21 am on the highway. 169 and Main St., an officer assisted the Jordanian Police Department with a wrong way driver. A Jordanian officer located and stopped the vehicle.

At 7:50 am on the highway. 169 and Johnson Way, an officer assisted the Minnesota State Patrol in an accident that resulted in injuries.

At 10:20 a.m., an officer received several complaints from lawyers, all over town, going door-to-door. The officer contacted the individuals and informed them that a municipal permit had to be obtained.

At 10:46 a.m. on Block 1000 of Enterprise Dr. E., an officer responded to a two-vehicle crash. No injuries were reported and information was exchanged.

At 3:47 p.m. on the highway. 169 and 166th St. W., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic complaint. The location was verified but the vehicle could not be located.

At 6:27 p.m., in the 1000 block of Prairie Oak Dr., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 7:59 p.m. on the 400 block of Chestnut St. S., an officer responded to a traffic complaint. The driver has been located and notified.

Sunday 20 June

At 12:43 am on Main St. W. and Meridian St. N., an officer responded to a disturbance. After investigation, two 24-year-old men, from Madison Lake and Belle Plaine, were cited for misconduct.

At 1:57 a.m. on the 500 block of State St. W., an officer responded to a possible domestic in attendance. After investigation, the officer noted that the engagement was only verbal and that the parties were separated for the evening.

At 3.51 am on Block 300 of Chestnut St. N., an officer responded to a welfare check. Contact has been established and the matter has been assigned to a roommate.

At 9:12 am on the 500 block of Orchard St. E., a report of a knife found by Heritage Park was made. The knife has been turned over to the police department and there is no owner at this time.

At 10:22 a.m. in the 600 block of Main Street West, an officer received a report that a trailer was parked, making it difficult to see the stop sign. In addition, the trailer had been parked for over a month without being moved. The agent contacted the owner who was notified.

At 12:29 p.m., in the 500 block of Elk Street S., an officer assisted in the vehicle lockdown.

At 2:11 p.m. on the 100 block of Main Street West, an officer assisted in a vehicle lockdown.

At 5:04 p.m. on the 200 block of State St. W., medical assistance was required. The individual was transported to hospital by ambulance.

At 7:36 p.m. on the highway. 169 and Delaware Ave., an officer assisted the Scott County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic complaint. The location was verified but the vehicle could not be located.

At 10:27 p.m. on Meridian St. S. and Hwy. 169, an officer observed a street sign which had been overturned. MnDOT was contacted and a cone was placed due to its danger.

At 11:22 a.m. on Block 100 of Aspen Ln., An officer cited a 29-year-old driver, from Belle Plaine, for canceling public safety concerns and possession of drug paraphernalia.
